Flowers for doing your job
Some may say unethical however receiving flowers from an unexpected peer for simply assisting and doing your job can sure encourage you to keep assisting that person in their needs.
Word to the wise..I like roses ;-)

San Sebastian Rustic in Brawley, CA
San Sebastian Rustic
Etsy Link: San Sebastian Rustic 'Estsy Store'
Oh what a Saturday it has been, I feel like I purchased the entire store and managed to spend under $200.00.
San Sebastian is in the little ole town of Brawley about an hour and a half outside the Coachella Valley and two hours outside of San Diego.
The shop is owned by Vanessa Vaca a local Frida Kahlo fanatic and all around clever lady! She has a knack for design and can turn any drab room into a Mexican Hacienda.
I have driven past her store for the past 5 odd years always thinking it was a nursery or an outdoor furniture store, it wasn't until I searched local sellers on Etsy did I truly find out what this place has to offer.
I am an avid fan of Talavera and now that I have my Tangerine Kitchenaid Mixer I needed to incorporate more Tangerine in my Talavera. I noticed on the San Sebastian Facebook page that they were selling a piece that reads "mi casa es su casa, salte de mi cocina". The literal translation is "my house is your house, stay out of my kitchen" but the physical translation is "my house is your house, but stay the HELL out of my kitchen". I had to have it so I ordered it!
I took the drive down to the lower desert not expecting to drag my lazy ass into San Sebastian's physical location however 2 hours prior to closing I needed something to do, so off I went!
The store is full of house items and gifts straight from Mexico! Everything from Talavera painted pigs(life size) to wrought iron head board and large elaborate entrance pieces made from reclaimed wood. It reminded me of a chaotic Mexican Market that you could find in Mexicali but it all blended together so well.
Purchased:
1 Talavera Soap Dish
1 Talavera Kitchen Sign
1 Talavera Soup Spoon holder
1 Talavera Tissue Box cover
4 Virgin de Guadalupe Christmas Ornaments (they were on sale!!!)
1 Set of 3 Talavera Cookie Jars
1 Virgen de Guadalupe reclaimed wood votive
Enjoy the pictures!

Brazilian Blow Out
Made an appointment on a late Friday Evening to get the Brazilian Blow Out done on Saturday morning at 9:00 am.
I arrived early (surprise, surprise) and was able to tour "The Corridor" which is the complex that houses Brien O'Brien Salon, Koffi Palm Springs and a few more gift shops.
There is parking in the rear but I parked across from Our Lady of Solitude because I knew God would watch over my ride.
I walked into Koffi to get my drink then exited through the rear which is a dog park of sorts with grass, tables and dogs!
I awaited the Salon to open and arrived inside at 9:00 am promptly and was greeted promptly.
I was set up with my Stylist Natalie Noel and I had to inform her of my time crunch, she obliged and we began.
Process:
- Deep Scrub to remove all product from hair
- coat hair in Brazilian Blow Out formula
- blow dry hair with formula
- flat iron hair with formula
- Rinse hair
- apply formula conditioner treatment
- go under hair dryer for 15 mins w/ conditioner in hair
- rinse and wash
- Blow Dry
It is a long process that is worth every penny, if you get the right stylist at a worthwhile salon it makes the long process all the more bare able.
Natalie is a great stylist and worked hard to meet my unrealistic dead line, a quick blow dry and I was out the door on my way to a baby shower.
Brien O'Brien is offering the treatment for $200.00 for new clients and $300.00 for returning clients.
